Routine Home Visits
You must notify the surgery by 11:00am as the doctors need to plan their rounds. Routine calls are normally made between surgery times, that is to say between 11:30am and 3:30pm. Calls requested after 11:30am are at the discretion of the duty doctor. You may be asked to attend the surgery if the doctor feels this is more appropriate. Remember your doctor can see eight people in the time it takes to do home visits.
Out of Hours
When the surgery is closed, the number to telephone is NHS24 - 111. A reminder of this number appears on a taped recording if you dial the surgery number. Please give the operator all the information requested. There is always a doctor available to give advice or to visit, though remember they may be dealing with someone else first. You will be asked for the number you are calling from. We sometimes require this for security reasons.
Let us know immediately you change address. Although we have a wide practice area, it may be necessary to change your doctor.
If you are pregnant then please call the Maternity Services on their centralised booking number: 0131 536 2009, open Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm. Antenatal clinics are held by the midwife on a Monday afternoon.
There are various methods available which you can discuss with either a GP or a nurse. We offer coil insertion and implant insertion. Please make an appointment with Dr. Stewart if you are interested in these options.
